Laganas is Zante’s busiest resort and gets larger and livelier year after year. It has probably got the finest beach on the island, a five mile sweep of sands shelving into warm, calm waters. Bars and restaurants open until the early hours, and in July and August the resort is buzzing. The bright lights of Laganas attract those who want fun-filled evenings and days chilling on the gorgeous sandy beach, where the island's endangered loggerhead turtles can sometimes be seen swimming. If you want to dance the night away, you can boogie on down to Laganas's main strip for discos and nightclubs galore.
