This harbour town is set against the stunning backdrop of the Troodos Mountains, Paphos was once the capital of Cyprus which today is a thriving tourist resort and a charming place to explore. The growing harbour town of Paphos nestling on the Western coast of the island, is so rich in historical interest that the whole town is included on UNESCO World Heritage List. Wherever you tread in Paphos you come across evidence of its glorious history that dates back thousands of years. Paphos offers an excellent choice of restaurants, cafes, family bars, lively bars and clubs thus catering for all markets.
The harbour has many tavernas and cafes where you can sit and watch the colourful fishing boats, or book one of the relaxing boat cruises on offer. While you're by the harbour, don't miss the Paphos Mosaics - the mosaic floors in the Roman noblemen's villas here are very well preserved and are said to be among the finest in the Mediterranean.
Slightly further inland you will find Paphos Old town with its classical-style buildings and markets preserving its ancient charm or for the more active you will have endless hours of fun at Paphos Waterpark which is just a short distance from the harbour.
Paphos is a great destination offering year round activities, high standard accommodation, excellent cuisine and friendly service. However, if one of the many beaches and the midday sun begin to lose their appeal, there is an abundance of interesting sites and museums to visit as well as a number of day trips you can make easily from Paphos.
