With a sunny Mediterranean climate and with little rainfall, Cyprus has long been popular as a tourist destination. The island has everything from sandy beaches, such as the world famous Nissi beach, bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. Standards of accommodation are high and with friendly locals make for an excellent holiday.
The island has two airports, Paphos and Larnaca. You will find many cheap offers on flights to Cyprus throughout the year making this is an easily accessible destination.
Paphos airport serves the resorts of Paphos, Coral Bay and Limassol.
Larnaca airport serves the resorts of Ayia Napa, Protaras and also Limassol.
You will find it very easy to get around Cyprus by public transport, although many visitors take the option of car hire as they drive on the same side of the road as the UK easing the nerves of those first time drivers abroad.
The Mediterranean’s third largest island, Cyprus is North of Egypt, East of Greece, South of Turkey, West of Israel and Lebanon and Syria.
There are six regions that make up Cyprus, these are: Famagusta, Kyrenia, Larnaca, Limassol, Nicosia, Paphos. Kyrenia is administered by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus with the rest making up the Republic of Cyprus. Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus, is divided between the Turkish Republic and Cyprus Republic.
Cyprus is a popular destination for tourists, who visit for the ancient ruins, beaches, cultural heritage, olive trees, mountains and vineyards. It is the island of Aprhrodite, the goddess of love and beauty. Popular holiday destinations include Ayia Napa, Larnaca, Limassol and Paphos.

All properties offering accommodation in Cyprus are officially classified and graded by the Cyprus Tourism Organisation. Classifications are mainly based on quantifiable items like dimensions of accommodation, facilities offered, services provided, etc. Qualitative items like service, food, furnishings, decor, etc, can vary – even between properties of the same category. Hotels are graded in the normal manner from 1 to 5 star, the latter being the highest class. Apartments (known as "Hotel Apartments") have separate categories of de luxe, A, B and C class. "Tourist Apartments" with only basic facilities are graded "tourist class", shown here as TC. "Tourist Villages" are graded A or B. Most hotels conform to ISO quality criteria.
