Tenerife

Live chat by BoldChat
It is no surprise that Tenerife is such a popular holiday destination. It has such a range of activities and entertainment, from scuba-diving and parasailing to world class golfing and great bars and restaurants. There are theme parks and shows galore too. Be swept away by the colour and beauty of the Carmen Motta ballet theatre or gasp in wonder as magnificent eagles, vultures and condor swoop over your head at Eagle park. Tenerife is probably one of the last European paradise isles. "Fascinating" is the word for this island. It offers lush forests, exotic fauna and flora, deserts, mountains, volcanos, sometimes snow, incredibly beautiful coastlines and spectacular beaches.

Climate in Spain

Most of Spain is hot and sunny in summer but there are differences in temperature during winter depending on the climatic region. There are three regions: the north and northwest, the central region and the Mediterranean coast including the Balearic Islands. The north and northwest is the wettest region with cooler and wetter summers although there is still an ample amount of warm weather. The central region has low rainfall although during winter there may be quite heavy snow. Summers are hot with spring and early summer being the wettest seasons. The Mediterranean coast has milder winters with hot and sometimes humid summers

Puerto de la Cruz has been attracting tourists even before tourism had been invented and is still going strong today.
Brits have relished a break here since the nineteenth century. Parts of this once small fishing village are still the same. Fisherman bring in their daily harvest. Typically Canarian houses line the streets and normal life flourishes in this hilly town. And yet, tourism has taken off too. No wonder Puerto de la Cruz's holidays are as popular as ever.
So what's the secret? The choice of beaches? Three small beaches, with dark volcanic sand. Nearby Playa de las Teresitas with imported Sahara sand. Or the 'au naturale' Las Gavistas for that all over tan. Maybe it's Lago de Martianez - a huge saltwater lido with 8 pools, bars and restaurants. Perhaps it's the pretty Old Town with Castillo San Felipe and the beautiful Senora de la Pena de Francia church. Or the high fashion and high prices in the New Town. Maybe it's wild Loro Parque and the Orchid Gardens once graced by Agatha Christie. . . .the list goes on.
